Well I have been in support of the Campaign to get RATM to #1 spot at Christmas, I have wrote my views on the subject in a separate page on this site, please view the page as it gives a greater understanding as to why we are doing this whole campaign.

Well I did some work on QuakeLive Utilities over the weekend and it’s finished, fully working. Hoping to add some screenshots soon, I just need to decide whether I sell the app and create a Online Community for it, release it for free… or not release it at all. If I see enough interest for it then I will create a Online Community and change it so people have to login to use it.

Well I have just started working on QuakeLive Utilities, which is a follow on of the software that I created for both Quake 3 and Quake 4. QuakeLive Utilities will have full functionality for item timing within QuakeLive which will be a fully legal and non-cheat application. Currently I have designed the layout of the app, the application is being programmed in C#.net in Visual Studio 2008, more user friendly for Vista users and will be made for a basis to run on Vista 64 ONLY! Due to specific reasoning by myself and DirectX 10 capabilities. The software will be running in the background and all functionality will be down to the user and not the software. Minimal memory usage is a key factor of this application for me. More news on this software soon and maybe some screenshots.

Ok well after a few days on QuakeLive I hooked up with some old players who I played in clans with many years ago. P0rn was the clan leader of the GenerationX which I was a member of way back in 2002 or somewhere around that period, we were Division 1 for CPMA and Rocket Arena 3. We spoke about old times etc and he had the clan tag for generation x, after the first match I changed my clan tag the same and have been playing with the tag pretty much since then.

Over the weekend I managed to get my old Quake 3 config on the game (after some searching!) I didn’t realise that you can actually place the Quake 3 config in a baseq3 directory which is supposed to be hidden so people don’t edit stuff, I also found out that you can use bright skins like in CPM. So after much editing (due to being on Vista now) I finally got my config sorted and the graphics sorted! I seem to like the game a lot more now and I managed to get the resolution up to 1280×1024. Although that will undoubtedly change pretty soon when I get my new 24″ screen. Anyway a lot of rumors going around that GenX are coming back for QuakeLive, I guess we’ll have to see. Ok well I joined the QuakeLive site a long while back now, I didn’t actually find out about it until quite late on (March 2009) due to not actually playing any FPS games since the RA3 days. My brother told me about it first and I thought it sounded pretty crap but then a real life friend started a conversation about it who I got into Quake 3 years ago when I was playing in leagues. Anyway I joined when he said about it and didn’t bother with it as it said it was going to take 2 hours to download and install.

Anyway I have been playing it quite a bit now that I have it all setup and everything, the graphics seems a lot different now I think because of the 64bit graphics drivers as I now run Windows Vista Ultimate and used to always play Quake 3 on Windows XP (shows how long I haven’t played the game!

Well I just found one of the 2 movies that the clan I played in made on Rocket Arena 3. Check it out, I am currently looking for the second movie! GenX Movie.

Well I have added two more galleries, one for Quake 3 General and another for Quake 3 Clan results. All are for Rocket Arena at the moment as I am half way through trawling through my drives for old screenshots. I will hopefully be adding more images to these two galleries in the next couple of days, most of the screenshots currently up were from 2002 and 2003. Note all current screenshots have been resized from 1024×768

I specifically like the following screenshot of when we beat Induce 11-10 on Ra3Map11 (their favorite map; they still won Division 1 but hey!); cheef was moaning like an old woman after that match! Screenshot Clicky Clicky!

Well I have started playing Quake 4 a bit recently, well over the past week or so on the new patch. I was playing FFA but have now got into playing CTF, I didn’t really play CTF when I was paying Quake 3, but I did play it a lot on Quake 2. I am finding Quake 4 CTF quite fun and am currently looking to join a clan for it as it seems quite competitive.

I have found a practice bot for Quake 4, basically like the Quake 3 bots so you can practice multiplayer Offline. The movement is a bit predictable but it’s still worth downloading. I have improved my weapons a bit from playing 1v1 against it.

Well I finally got around to updating my Quake 4 and testing the new patch out on my new PC. Even tho I have had the pc for months now I totally forgot that I had Quake 4 sat on my desk in a box! I did try Quake 4 before, but couldn’t get used to it. So now I have the new patch I am getting back into Gaming and FPS games.
